In the summer of 2015, I’d just returned home from one of the most remarkable coaching experiences of my life, it was time to take my life in a completely new direction!
Only a few months earlier I’d been chained to my desk, working for a global investment bank, crawling through millions of lines of code, only to watch the dollar signs whizz past on the screen as thousands of trades hit the system every day.
Like many hungry young professionals who choose to pursue a career in banking technology, the adrenaline rush of building and supporting a multi-million dollar system had kept me striving for more.
Sooner or later, something had to give.
My fitness levels had really taken a bashing as I pursued my career. I’d been a highly competitive swimmer and hockey player throughout my teens but after finishing uni, I just didn’t have the time to commit to training anymore.
It wasn’t until I made the decision to leave the corporate ladder that I noted how much I’d compromised in search of furthering my professional ambitions.
After spending those few months managing a summer activities programme and getting back into sports coaching, I had reached a turning point. There was no going back.
Earlier that year, I’d completed my studies in Personal Training and it felt like it was finally time to start my own fitness business.
In September 2015, the first outdoor bootcamps and Personal Training sessions arrived in Newhaven, Edinburgh.
From there, as I started working with more clients, I was determined to expand my functional knowledge of human anatomy and physiology. In 2017, after completing over 200 hours of case study treatments, I achieveed a Diploma in Sports and Remedial Massage Therapy, equipped with a wide range of advanced diagnostic and manual therapy techniques to support my clients.
One of the challenges I encountered when working in the gym and treating clients in the clinic was that it’s not always possible for clients to continue their training or rehab in the absence of a trainer. For one, despite best intentions, motivation levels drop off pretty quickly. Another reason is simply remembering what exercises to do and how to do them effectively.
In 2018, after returning to Glasgow, we launched our award-winning Body Transformation Challenge which combines of high-intensity workouts, nutrition plans, resistance training along with daily stretches and additional exercises to follow using our innovative fitness app.

After seeing the potential for training our clients online, I have spent the last 18 months refining our online coaching platform and partnering with other fitness professionals around the world to expand our reach.
Finally, I want to give a massive shout-out to my amazing students who completed their Level 2 & 3 Personal Trainer qualifications with me in the beginning of 2019 in conjunction with The Gym Group and Body Core Training. With a 100% success rate in qualifying from the course and all now employed full-time as trainers within the fitness industry, I couldn’t be happier with the result and I look forward to working with more students in the months ahead.
Ultimately, my goal is to transform as many lives as possible using the gift of health and innovative technology.
